I had a unique experience at U.S. Bank to be able to work on design systems in many different capacities.

My first design system adjacent experience was as a point of knowledge for documentation that hadn’t yet been captured and published. Frequently, coworkers would come to me for guidance and decisions that weren’t available in a centralized, accessible location.

Following a few product team movements and reorgs, I ended up on the team focused on investment and retirement. This was where I created my first component library in preparation for a rebrand. This process involved a combination of documenting components that existed, but also adapting them to the look and feel of the global brand albeit from a different brand standard since it’s a unique legal entity.

After my work with the wealth team, an opening came up on the enterprise design system team and I jumped at the chance. I got a ton of great experience working on the design systems for both mobile native and responsive web platforms. I created a bunch of complex components and wrote a bunch of (probably mediocre) documentation.
